The Queen's Alumni Review, in collaboration with the Queen's MasterCard program, presents a set of special evenings celebrating the literary excellence of Queen's alumni and faculty authors.
Write Thinking begins on Tuesday, October 16 (7:30 pm) in the Red Room of Kingston Hall, with award-winning eco-journalist Andrew Westoll, Artsci'00 (Biology). Andrew's latest book, The Chimps of Fauna Sanctuary, was the winner of the $25,000 Charles Taylor Prize for Non-Fiction.
The series is the brainchild of Ken Cuthbertson, editor of the Review. "I wanted to showcase some of the many talented writers affiliated with Queen's, and offer today's students the opportunity to meet and engage with them." The free events are open to members of the community as well.
After Andrew's reading from his work, he will be joined by Carolyn Smart, Professor of English, for a conversation about the writing craft.
Write Thinking continues November 13 with Tanis Rideout, Artsci'99 (English), reading from her critically acclaimed novel Above All Things. The series will continue in January with two authors yet to be announced.
