The Queen鈥檚 Lecture Series partnered with the and the to bring Neema Namadamu to Queen鈥檚 University for the fifth annual Dr. Malcolm Peat Lectureship on April 20, 2023.
In this lecture, Namadamu presents "How mainstreaming persons with disability, especially women, can impact the collective heart and soundness of society,鈥 and discusses how this approach benefits persons with a disability and their communities while sharing personal anecdotes and reflections.
Namadamu is the founder of Synergy of Congolese Women鈥檚 Associations, a forum to foster collaboration among women-led non-governmental organizations and Hero Women Rising, which gathers international support for women鈥檚 empowerment initiatives in Congo. Namadamu has received numerous awards and accolades and most recently received an award from the Congolese Organization for Peace and Reconciliation for 鈥渆xemplary action in favor of peace and reconciliation in South Kivu Province of DRC鈥 in 2021.
