The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts is celebrating its 10th Anniversary season in 2024-2025.

Performing artists experienced abrupt and unparalleled financial setbacks during the pandemic shutdowns. They continue to encounter significant difficulties in what remains a precarious landscape for live musical and artistic performances. To celebrate our 10th Anniversary – and to address these financial challenges – we are launching a fundraising campaign.

As a unique unit within Queen’s whose focus is on the performing arts, the Isabel is tasked with generating our own operational funding so we can continue to offer the calibre of performances for which we are known. We rely on the generosity of our friends to make this possible. This funding will address the increased costs associated with public and educational programming, as well as emergent infrastructural needs.

See below for ways you can make a difference by contributing to the Isabel’s 10th Anniversary Fundraising Campaign.

Name A Seat

Initially launched in 2014 at the opening of the Isabel, is being reintroduced as part of the 10th anniversary campaign. Naming a seat in the Jennifer Velva Bernstein Performance Hall ensures that you or someone special in your life will become part of the Isabel. Funds raised from the seat campaign are directed to the Concert Series Fund, which provides assistance in programming a variety of nationally and internationally acclaimed performers and ensembles. This will enable the development of innovative performing arts projects both now and in the next decade.

Concert Series Fund

Make extraordinary concert experiences happen at the Isabel through direct support to the Concert Series Fund, creating opportunities for the finest ensembles, bands, orchestras and soloists in the world to perform at the Isabel. (*Please note that there is a $5 minimum to qualify for a tax receipt.)

Community Cultural Fund

A strategic priority of the Isabel is to create an environment where the arts strengthens communities. The Community Cultural Fund integrates the work of local artists and cultural institutions into the Isabel by strengthening the exchange between Queen’s and performing arts communities. (*Please note that there is a $5 minimum to qualify for a tax receipt.)

Planned Giving

Contributing to the Isabel is primarily an act of heartfelt intention, driven by the aspiration to effect social, communal, and cultural change, as well as to enrich our shared histories. Create your legacy and ensure that the Isabel will forever be a part of the Queen’s and Kingston community through a bequest by way of a general donation. This will allow the Isabel to put your generous gift to use as needed in future projects that benefit our entire community in a lasting way.
