Dr. Stéfanie von Hlatky has been awarded The 2018 Captain Nichola Goddard Award by the . The Captain Nichola Goddard Award was created to recognize and honour a young Canadian innovator and trailblazer who has made a significant contribution to Canadian security and defence. The award is named after the first Canadian female soldier in a combat role killed in action (in Afghanistan on 17 May 2006) and was established to celebrate both Nichola Goddards’s vibrant spirit and other “Game Changers” who live by Canadian values of inclusivity, innovation, ethical leadership, and commitment. Dr. von Hlatky will formally receive the Prize at the Vimy Prize Gala, on 2 November 2018.
