As Finance and Project Officer reporting to the Associate Director, Finance and Administration for VPR, Lisa brings over 30 years of business and accounting experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations to streamline processes and deliver on departmental objectives. Lisa manages budgets, program reporting, metrics and accounting processes for Queen鈥檚 Partnerships and Innovation (QPI). She works closely with the Assistant Vice-Principal (Partnerships and Innovation) and the senior team at QPI, community stakeholders and collaborating partners in the regional ecosystem to support the university鈥檚 strategic goals.
Lisa鈥檚 career began at Queen鈥檚 University in September 2004 with the Queen鈥檚-run initiative BIOCAP Canada Foundation as their Finance and Administrative Assistant and in 2008, Lisa joined the inaugural team at Innovation Park where she provided core financial and property management support to the Director and Assistant Director of Industry Partnerships and Innovation Park, with oversight of Innovation Park鈥檚 $21M grant from Ontario鈥檚 Ministry of Research and Innovation. Prior to coming to Queen鈥檚, Lisa worked in the private industry for 11 years with Irving Transportation Services and Sunbury Transport Ltd, both J. D. Irving, Ltd. companies in Fredericton, NB, in various finance positions and ultimately a staff accountant.
What鈥檚 the best part of your job?
Being able to leverage my experience and expertise to play a meaningful role in the success of Queen鈥檚 Partnerships and Innovation, as well as meeting and working with many key partners in the Kingston and Ottawa regional entrepreneurial ecosystem.
