Queen’s Partnerships and Innovation is pleased to report the issuance of U.S. Patent No. 12,017,263 "Methods for Remediating Polyfluorocarbon-Carbon Contaminated Soil," on June 25, 2024 to Kela Weber, Lauren Turner, Nick Battye, Bernard Kueper, and Andrew Jason Hendry. The patent relates to a method for remediating PFAS-contaminated soil that comprises measuring the initial moisture content of the PFAS-contaminated soil, optionally drying the PF AS-contaminated soil, and ball milling the PFAS-contaminated soil with or without the use of milling additives.
