Course Reserves

What is Course Reserves?

Course Reserves is the university's resource list management system. It is a comprehensive, dynamic resource list tool, which allows lecturers to create off-campus links to library resources such as journal articles and books/eBooks, digitized book chapters, as well as freely available online content.

Note: Google Chrome is the recommended browser for use with Course Reserves and onQ.

The following video provides a step-by-step guide on how to connect Course Reserves to your onQ Course:

  1. Login to your course in onQ.
  2. Click Content on the navigation bar.
  3. Select a module to add the Course Reserves link.
  4. Click the Existing Activities dropdown.
  5. Click External Learning Tools
  6. Click Course Reserves and select Create a new reading list from scratch. For more information, see the create a list video below.
  7. Now you can start adding items. To do this, you have 3 options:
  • If you have used eReserves (Ares) before for this course.  Send your reading list and course code to library.reserves@queensu.ca and highlight anything that鈥檚 new or removed.  Example ENGL 101 F21. Provide Names/NetIDs of co-instructors or TAs so that they will have access to course materials.

  • If you have not used Course Reserves before for this course, and you would like to have the library add items for you. Send your reading list and course code to library.reserves@queensu.ca.  Provide Names/NetIDs of co-instructors or TAs so that they will have access to course materials.
  • If you would like to add items yourself. If you need help adding readings, consult the videos below or use the guided tours from the top-right menu bar. When finished, click Library Review to send your list to the library for processing.

Please select Create a new reading list from scratch instead of Upload a document containing an existing reading list. This will make sure that you will be able to use all the features in Course Reserves.
