Professor David Gordon鈥檚 largest sabbatical research project was published by the UofT School of Cities a few of weeks ago, as the Canadian Suburbs Atlas:

Queen鈥檚 Geography graduate (Artsci 鈥21) was one of the Research Assistants on the study. Seven other students from TMU and UofT analysed over 6500 Canadian neighbourhoods in all 41 metropolitan areas, over a three month period. UofT student Remus Herteg then spent the summer building the Atlas and the interactive map with Jeff Allen, the School of Cities鈥 talented cartographer.

The maps, data and background are here:

A remarkable interactive map classifying the neighbourhoods in all 41 Canadian metropolitan areas is available here:

The research was supported by grants from UofT鈥檚 School of Cities and David Gordon鈥檚 SSHRC grant on 鈥淗ow Canada Became a Suburban Nation.鈥 Congratulations, Dr. Gordon!
