The Queen’s tartan is held within as the "Queens University Kingston Ontario" tartan.

It was designed by distinguished alumnus John Matheson.

The colours of the tartan represent the six academic hoods at Queen's: 

• blue for medicine
• red for arts and science
• gold for engineering
• white for nursing
• green for business
• purple for theology

on the Alumni Merchandise site.
