Aerial photo of Queen's campus taken by Billy Bishop, 1919
The famous Canadian flying ace has a minor connection with Queen's. In 1919, the fledgling aerial photography company that he founded after the First World War took a picture of Queen's that is now one of the best known historic photos of the campus.
Since Bishop and a professional photographer were the company's only two employees it is almost certain that he was flying the plane when the picture was snapped.
