This course provides students with a contemporary and evidence-informed perspective on drugs and drug use disorder. Topics include theories of addiction, prevention, treatment, and harm reduction.

- Describe the major types of psychoactive drugs.
- Contrast biological, psychological, and social theories of drug use and addiction.

- Model empathy and cultural competence for engaging with people who use drugs and people with drug use disorder.
