FILM 275 The Frame Units: 3.00
This is a production course focussed intensely on the frame, thinking through aesthetic choices, formal elements, and eventually storytelling. This course will allow students to focus their attention on the elements of the frame, mise-en-sc猫ne, lighting, exposure, and composition as they build content (mood, power dynamics, stories).
Learning Hours: 108 (24 Lecture, 12 Laboratory, 24 Tutorial, 48 Private Study)
Requirements: Prerequisite Registration in a FILM, MAPP, or COFI Plan.

Course Learning Outcomes:
- Analyze frame design across multiple cultures/production settings/genres.
- Construct frames and shots where aesthetic choices are aligned with conceptual ones.
- Respond visually to master filmmakers from around the world.
- Master basic techniques of lighting, photography, cinematography.
- Create DIY tripods and lighting to work with mobile phones.
