Tomorrow, Queen’s will launch QUAlerts, a new emergency notification system. This alert system enables Queen’s staff, faculty and students with active Queen’s email addresses to quickly receive alerts in the event of natural disasters, severe weather, high-risk situations or major service interruptions. Users can also opt in to receive SMS messages.

An initial test message will be issued tomorrow on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025, when the system is activated. Members of the Queen’s community should watch for an email from “QUAlerts <no-reply@alertable.ca>" that signals you are receiving QUAlerts messages.  The message will also provide additional information about the system.

QUAlerts is powered by a platform called Alertable. In addition to the email notification, Queen’s community members are encouraged to download the free Alertable mobile app that offers extra features like the ability to override silent mode to ensure you receive alerts even if the sound on your device is turned off.  The app also provides users with the ability to receive QUAlerts in multiple languages.
