The COVID-19 pandemic has threatened our health and communities, including some of our most vulnerable populations, such as the elderly. Have we failed or succeeded in our duty to safeguard the most vulnerable members of our society? What has the national and global response to the pandemic taught us about our preparedness for such a virus? How will the pandemic influence our long-term strategy for healthy aging? Dr. Janet Jull is an occupational therapist and Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Therapy in the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queen’s University. Her research focuses on developing and evaluating shared decision-making tools and approaches to support client-centred care, with a particular focus on cancer care. In all of her research, Dr. Jull works in collaboration with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis researchers and communities.

A researcher in community-based rehabilitation (CBR), a discipline focused on supporting people with disabilities and their families and communities in low- and middle-income countries, Aldersey works with families and people with disabilities to identify the problems they face.
