Project Details

The inspiration for this strategic goal came from the Ivory Innovations Hack-A-House model – a 24-hour hackathon that engages students and asks that they propose innovative solutions that address the housing affordability crisis. The Mayor’s Innovation Challenge is a post-secondary pitch competition held annually in Kingston that asks students to propose ideas that make Kingston a better place to live, work and play. Hackathons and pitch competitions are opportunities to learn and collaborate with the hope that new and creative solutions arise. For a Kingston-based Hack-A-House, we’d look to partner with institutions, developers, and not-for-profits.

Project Goals

Establish a Hack-A-House in partnership with institutions, developers, not-for-profit and public using the Mayor’s Innovation Challenge model.
