    You are welcome to attend Dr. Blythe Bell’s lecture: “Disrupting Whiteness in Canadian Nursing Education” 

    Blythe Bell (she/they) is a 6th generation white Canadian settler of mixed-European descent, born and raised on the lands of the Niitsítaapi, Blackfoot Confederacy on Treaty 7 land in Alberta.  They are a nurse and nurse educator with a clinical specialty in perinatal nursing. Blythe completed her Bachelor of Nursing in Calgary in 2003 and has worked in various clinical areas across British Columbia, in the United States, and in Australia. Blythe has a PhD in Leadership Studies from the University of Victoria, completed in 2023. Blythe's research investigated factors influencing anti-racism in nursing education across Canada. In May 2024, they received an Outstanding Graduate Student Research Award from the UVic Faculty of Education. Blythe and her daughter are now settled on ləkʷəŋən lands where Blythe will be teaching with the UVic School of Nursing in 2025.
