Faculty/Public Lecture: Dr. Vikram Patel, recipient of the John Dirks Canada Gairdner Global Health Award (2019)

The Faculty of Health Sciences is pleased to host a visit and lecture by Dr. Vikram Patel, recipient of the 2019 John Dirks Canada Gairdner Global Health Award. Dr. Patel was honoured 鈥渇or his world-leading research in global mental health, generating knowledge on the burden and determinants of mental health problems in low- and middle-income countries and pioneering approaches for the prevention and treatment of mental health in low-resource settings".
The Lecture, titled 鈥淭ransforming Mental Health Globally鈥� will begin at approximately 4:00 and is open to all 成人大片 faculty, staff and students, as well as the public. Refreshments and sweet treats will be available in the Atrium from 3:30-4:00.
Dr. Patel is The Pershing Square Professor of Global Health and Wellcome Trust Principal Research Fellow, Department of Global Health & Social Medicine, Harvard Medical School; Professor, Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health; Honorary Professor of Global Mental Health, Centre for Global Mental Health, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine; Adjunct Professor, Centre for Chronic Conditions & Injuries, Public Health Foundation of India, New Delhi; and, Co-founder, Sangath, India
