    When:
    Thursday, September 27, 2018
    1:00 PM – 2:30 PM
    Where:

    Description:

Join SNID for this talk by Michael Doxtater, QNS in the Department of Global Development.

Direct and collateral victims of Indian Residential Schools (IRS) were recognized by Prime Minister Stephen Harper in the Apology for Indian Residential Schools of 2006. He clearly said that IRS students, families, and communities were tragically affected. This presentation depicts a personal lived history in contemporary times through initiatives like Jordan’s Principle, Shannen’s Dream, Rekindling Our Fires, and the Pink Feather Project that demonstrate resilience in social entrepreneurship and grassroots communities.
