    Description:

    Tonight's speaker is an off-reserve Band member of the Chippewas of Georgina Island and has worked collaboratively with a small group of knowledge keepers to research and assemble a physical repository of replica wampum belts woven through Ojibwa history. The presentation will illuminate how wampum was used to record not only relationships and treaties between the First Peoples of the Eastern Woodland, but also with settler societies in Canada.
