    Climate-smart agriculture is a new rubric used by international development organizations to talk about the links between food security, agriculture and climate change. But what happens when a fashionable concept collides with the unruly practices of development in rural India? Marcus Taylor discusses the complexities of climate-smart agriculture as it translates into development practice in Karnataka, India.

    Marcus Taylor is an Associate Professor in the Department of Global Development Studies, Queen’s University. A sociologist by training, he is the author of several books including The Political Ecology of Climate Change Adaptation (Routledge, 2015) and Global Labour Studies (Polity, 2018).
