The Department of English at Queen鈥檚 University is honoured to present a Public Reading and Book Signing with Madeleine Thien, 2016 winner of the Scotiabank Giller Prize for Do Not Say We Have Nothing on Monday March 27th, at 4:00 pm in the Agnes Etherington Art Centre.
Thien鈥檚 masterpiece is 鈥渂reathtaking in scope and ambition even as it is hauntingly intimate鈥 (Penguin). It tells the story of three musicians in China before, during and after the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989. On top of the Giller Prize, this extraordinary novel won the Governor General鈥檚 Literary Award for Fiction and was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize.
