Please join us Thrive Week, November 4-8. This year's focus is growth, development, and resilience.
When a colleague returns to work after suffering the loss of a loved one, it's hard to draw the line between helpful and supportive and puts coworkers in an uncomfortable position. Saying the wrong thing can be painful, but simply ignoring the issue isn't the solution. In order to support a grieving colleague, you need to strike the right balance between doing, offering specific tasks that you can help with and being, showing empathy.
Join Danielle Gelineau as she shares her personal story on how she navigates grief after losing her fiancé Brian, unexpectedly at the young age of 32. She will speak about how her colleagues in the Smith's School of Business supported her, immediately after the tragedy, and then after she returned to work. She will share with you her top list of 'dos' that she experienced while going through her grief. She will also share with you what she learned from this experience, and how even today, three years later, her colleagues continue to support her.
The Microsoft Teams link will be shared with you in advance of this session.
