Join Dr. Jane Philpott, Dean of Queen's Health Sciences at StartWell – Event Studio for a thought-provoking speaker event featuring Dr. Annette Hay, Professor, Department of Medicine and Dr. Catherine Donnelly, Associate Professor, School of Rehabilitation Therapy and Department of Family Medicine.
Dr. Hay is committed to discovering new, groundbreaking approaches to treating cancer. Imagine a world where a person’s immune system can cure cancer. Instead of chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery, the work is done by a patient’s immune blood cells – removed, engineered to recognize cancer, and returned to the body. In her talk, Dr. Hay outlines the promise of cell therapy as a future game-changer.
Dr. Catherine Donnelly understands the importance of community to your overall health as you age. Explore how a simple idea spawned a movement helping older adults age well among neighbours. In her talk, Dr. Donnelly investigates how we often take the idea of community—and the health benefits of belonging to one—for granted.
After the talks, engage in meaningful discussions and network with fellow alumni over light refreshments.
