    McDonald Institute Visitor Centre Tour

    Description:

    Please come to the McDonald Institute Visitor Centre for a FREE TOUR! Scientists working in the Arthur B. McDonald Canadian Astroparticle Physics Research Institute will give a guided tour through the McDonald Institute Visitor Centre, featuring an introduction to particle physics and astrophysics, some information on the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory experiment that won the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics, a discussion of the future of observing dark matter and neutrinos, and various interactive exhibits covering a range of scales and science. Come and have a taste of the world of astroparticle physics!

    The space is accessible, but please contact us in advance at Outreach@McDonaldInstitute.ca so that we can welcome you through the accessibility entrance.

    The visitor centre is free and open to the public, Monday – Friday, 9:30am – 4:30pm, however to get a guided tour we recommend you come out to our lunchtime tours that occur at the noon hour on the second Thursday and fourth Wednesday of every month (except December).

    Information is available in English and French, although for a French guided tour, please contact Outreach@McDonaldInstitute.ca, as these can only be provided by request.
