A free public screening and discussion of the film Lake Superior Our Helper: Stories from Batchewanaung Anishinabek Fisheries will take place on Thursday Feb 23 at 6 pm at the Screening Room, 120 Princess St, Kingston.
Lake Superior Our Helper follows Chief Dean Sayers through a series of conversations with community members to reveal the cultural, political, and ecological relationships surrounding their fisheries.
Discussion of the film will feature guests Abraham Francis (Mohawk from Akwesasne Community) and Kerry-Ann Charles (Anishinaabe from Georgina Island First Nation) sharing related experiences and insights from their communities.
