    Description:

These informal presentations are led by Smith School of Business faculty and students; Queen’s faculty or members from the Kingston and area community and are open to everyone. One hour in length, the presentations include an overview of a research idea or paper, during which questions and comments are encouraged, followed by time for conversation and feedback.

Join us to hear from Dr. Wendy Craig, Professor and Head of Psychology, ³ÉÈË´óƬ.  Wendy is presenting, "The Challenges in Mobilizing Knowledge for Social Impact: Bullying a Case Example.

Given the high prevalence of bullying in Canada, the research examining knowledge mobilization is critical because much of what is learned from research fails to reach stakeholders. Current scientific knowledge is not getting into the hands of the right people – those involved in children’s lives such as parents, teachers, recreation leaders, and youth themselves.

Research on knowledge mobilization processes and mechanisms that accelerate the impact of research on bullying prevention is needed to bridge the gap between research and practice. The goal of this talk is to present a knowledge mobilization evaluation framework that can be implemented to evaluate the social impact.
