RELS 226 Islam Units: 3.00
Historical and topical survey of Islam, its development through the study of its rise, institutionalization of its beliefs and practices, formation of its theology, law, mysticism; as well as its modern interpretations and practices.

Course Learning Outcomes:
- Develop a critical analytical frame of reference in order to be able to understand and explain religious issues in an educated manner.
- Identify why there are different voices and manifestations of Islam.
- Understand how historical developments take place within a religion.
